In this course students learn about the impacts of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on the economy, from its effect on productivity to the consequences for the labour market and inequalities. We also discuss possible policies implications. The course consists of a mix of theoretical models (growth models, etc.) and the most up to date empirical findings. Finally, the course also teaches students how economists use AI. It's therefore the economics of AI and AI for economists. Students are expected to actively participate to class discussions. Some prior knowledge of economics (especially principles of micro and macro) is not required but helpful.
